Explore the Historic MSP Property with a Self-Guided Tour

Come and explore the MSP property on a self-guided tour. Our staff will be there to assist along the way but will not give a tour. See the oldest housing units on the property, explore the dungeon cells and see where some of our more infamous inmates were housed.

What is included:

• Explore the Penitentiary at your own pace
• Learn about the history behind the three oldest Housing Units
• See where some of the more infamous inmates were housed
• Take Photos

Reservations are not required but are recommended

Check in details: Journey through Missouri State Penitentiary on your own. This self-guided exploration is for those that want to explore on their own. You may take photos and learn some of our vast 168 year history.

What to bring: Only Bottled Water allowed to be brought onto the property. Wear comfortable shoes and dress weather appropriately as there is no air conditioning,

Restrictions: The minimum age is 6 years old. No babies in strollers or anyone under the age of 6 is permitted.
